Chapel Dulcinea

Known as Austin’s only free wedding chapel, Chapel Dulcinea is an adorable little wedding chapel in South Austin. 

This is the perfect free wedding venue in Austin for both small wedding ceremonies and mini wedding receptions. This Tuscan-inspired space has built-in seating, beautiful views and plenty of photo opportunities.

The open-air chapel provides a covered space for your ceremony with plenty of room to add enhancements such as floral, cake and catering. 

Keep your wedding simple with wedding cake and a toast or create a larger reception with up to 75 guests. In addition, there is free parking at the adjacent lot.

Though the venue is free, you do need to reserve your spot ahead of time. Then, book your Everlasting Elopements package to complete your wedding day!

 

Texas State Capitol

For couples who want to get married at a free wedding venue in downtown Austin, the Texas State Capitol is the perfect choice.

There are several locations around the Capitol grounds where you can conduct your wedding ceremony. You’ll be able to walk down the aisle with up to 75 guests in attendance. Though there is no built in seating provided, chairs can be rented through Everlasting Elopements. Have your guests sit under the shady trees while observing your memorable wedding ceremony.

Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center

With stone archways and winding, green-filled paths and idyllic water features, this park is a natural haven for wedding ceremonies. There are several fully outdoor wedding ceremony spots in the center. In addition, there is a covered area of stone archways.

Outdoor Free Wedding Venues in Austin

 

Butler Park

Ideal for civil ceremonies and elopements, this public park is a beautiful free Austin wedding venue. There are several locations onsite to choose to host your wedding ceremony that offer views of downtown Austin, water features or park views.

Butler Park is perfect for elopements for the smallest of wedding ceremonies. However, one location at the park does have built-in seating for up to 20 guests. Though you won’t be able to have a mini reception onsite, there are plenty of Butler Park Everlasting Elopement packages available for a memorable wedding ceremony.

To extend your wedding day, head to one of the many nearby Austin restaurants for an intimate dinner or small reception. Many area restaurants offer private rooms ideal for 20 or less guests.

Mount Bonnell

One of the better-known free Austin wedding venues, Mount Bonnell is known for being a romantic location with beautiful views. 

You can choose to get married under the park’s pergola, or on the natural stone ledge that overlooks the Colorado River and the 360 Bridge. In your wedding photos, the view will stretch for miles and can be captured from several angles. 

This wedding ceremony location is completely free, but best suited for small wedding parties with no children or elderly guests. The hike to Mount Bonnell is about 100 steps, but worth the journey. This free Austin wedding venue is great for ceremonies, though not available for receptions. Hamilton Pool

Hamilton Pool is the ultimate summer-style backdrop for your wedding ceremony. 

This popular and idyllic location features a cascading waterfall, a rock facade and a sparkling blue and green natural pool.

A beautiful location for the adventurous couple, take a short hike to this special spot once you’ve made your reservation

The location itself is free, though you will need to pay small fees such as hiking, parking and a vendor fee.

Remember, there is a small hike to Hamilton Pool. As such, it is not recommended for ceremonies that need to include small children or the elderly. Ceremonies are often conducted during off periods to ensure more privacy.
